Wind Mobility Raises $50 Million and Unveils New E-Scooter Hardware

  • Wind Mobility, a Berlin and Barcelona-based micromobility startup, has raised $50 million in Series A funding from existing investors

  • The company, which operates e-scooter rentals in Europe, Israel and Asia, has unveiled its “third generation” e-scooters, which it says have been designed “from the ground up” for micromobility sharing

  • Wind claims its new scooters are significantly more durable and have best-in-class battery life, with the ability to drive 65-80km between charges

  • The company also says the new scooters have the highest waterproofing and increased durability, which will see them last over 12 months when used in the tough sharing environment

  • In the last few months, a number of other micromobility companies have announced upgrades to their hardware, including European competitors Voi and Tier

  • Wind Mobility co-founder and CEO Eric Wang has long talked up the importance of hardware as a differentiator, something he echoed again in a call last week.
